A video production company in Dubai with one person in it
Most video production companies in Dubai are built the same way: a producer takes the brief, an account manager relays it, a hired crew of three or four turns up on the day, and an editor who was never on set cuts the footage. Each hand-off costs money and loses detail. This one works differently. Jubin J Mathew quotes the project, plans it, shoots it on a Sony FX6 with an A7 IV as second camera, then edits and grades it in Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve. The person who heard what you wanted in the brief is the person deciding which take makes the cut. Eight years in the UAE, most of them on corporate, event and commercial work across Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
That structure suits a specific kind of project. Corporate films, event coverage, brand and product content, walkthroughs and social days all run well with one senior operator, controlled lighting and wireless audio. A commercial that needs a twenty-person crew, a jib and a studio week does not, and the proposal will say so rather than pretend. Where a second camera or a photographer is needed, one is added as a named line. Drone footage is flown by a licensed GCAA and DCAA partner and quoted separately. The trade-off between a solo operator and a full production company is set out plainly in solo videographer versus production company, including where each one wins.
Types of video production in Dubai, and what each is for
The corporate cluster is the largest. A company profile video shows people, place and process in three minutes for the website header and tender submissions. An executive interview or testimonial film is the entry-level booking: one or two speakers, two cameras, a half day. A brand film is built around a single idea for an audience rather than a tour of the company, and is shot with paid placement in mind from the treatment onwards. Training modules, healthcare films and industrial capability films sit in the same family and use the same half-day and full-day structure with different shot lists.
Event production runs on the DWTC and Expo City Dubai calendar, GITEX Global, Gulfood, Arab Health and Cityscape among them, plus launches, awards evenings and conferences in hotel ballrooms from Downtown to Palm Jumeirah. Commercial and product work is shot for the media plan: a hero cut plus 6 and 15 second versions in 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1. Real estate covers walkthroughs per unit and launch films for developments. Social content days deliver reels and stills in one visit. The four case films on the work page show how a launch in Abu Dhabi, a two-brand event in Fujairah and two same-day edits were each run by one operator.
What video production costs in Dubai
Most projects land between AED 2,000 and 7,000. The floor covers an executive interview set-up, a property walkthrough per unit or a short training module. Half-day event coverage with a 60 to 90 second highlight and two vertical cuts starts from AED 3,000, a full event day from AED 4,400, and a social content day with four reels and 20 stills from AED 3,400. A three-minute corporate film from AED 6,000 includes the pre-production call, a half-day shoot with up to two speakers, grade, sound mix, titles, licensed music and two vertical cut-downs. A same-day edit event film, including a full day on site, starts from AED 5,600.
What moves the number is shoot days, locations, the number of speakers, and how much post-production the deliverables need. Motion graphics, a second shooter, drone through the licensed partner, studio hire, talent, voiceover, Arabic subtitle versions and permits are each a separate line, never buried in a lump sum. October to December carries a peak-season surcharge that is stated on the quote before you confirm. Every proposal is itemised within 24 hours of the brief, so you can remove a line rather than negotiate a total. The full breakdown by format, with worked examples, is in the video production cost guide for Dubai.
How a video production in Dubai runs, brief to delivery
It starts with a WhatsApp or email brief: what the film is for, who watches it, where it is shot and when it is needed. An itemised proposal comes back within 24 hours. Once the deposit holds the date, a pre-production call fixes the running order, the interview questions, the locations inside the venue and the shot list. Interview questions are signed off before the day so nobody is drafting on set. Permits, gate passes and venue media access are flagged at this stage rather than discovered at the door. Shoot day runs to the agreed block: half day up to five hours, full day up to ten, with pro lighting, lavalier audio and a second camera on interviews.
The edit follows a set order. A first cut arrives in 2 to 5 working days on most projects and 7 working days on a three-minute corporate film, with one or two revision rounds included depending on the package. Grading is done in DaVinci Resolve, the sound mix and titles in Premiere Pro and After Effects, and licensed music is cleared for the placements named in the brief. Delivery is a 16:9 master at the resolution the brief calls for, vertical cut-downs with captions, and any square or 6 and 15 second versions the media plan needs, sent as download links together with the raw footage. The final films and the raw footage are yours in writing, with the balance due on delivery.
Agency quote versus one-operator quote for Dubai video production
Open an agency proposal for a three-minute corporate film and the same lines appear on most of them. A producer fee for the person managing the project. An account management line for the person managing you. A crew of four on the day: director of photography, camera assistant, sound recordist and a gaffer or grip, each on a day rate plus kit hire. Studio and office overheads spread across every project. Then the editor, the colourist and the motion designer as separate post-production lines, often with a mark-up on each. None of these lines is dishonest; they are what it costs to run a company of fifteen people, and a large campaign needs them.
A one-operator proposal for the same film has fewer lines because fewer people touch it. The shoot line covers Jubin with the FX6, the A7 IV, lighting and wireless audio. The post-production line covers the edit, grade, sound mix, titles and music from the same person, with no hand-off and no mark-up between departments. Extras appear only when the brief needs them: a second shooter, drone through the licensed partner, a studio, talent or a voiceover artist. The result is a film of comparable quality for a company of one to two hundred people, at a price inside AED 2,000 to 7,000 rather than a multiple of it, with one person answerable for every frame.

Video production in Dubai: FAQs
How much does video production cost in Dubai?
Most projects land between AED 2,000 and 7,000. Half-day event coverage with a highlight film starts from AED 3,000, a social content day from AED 3,400 and a three-minute corporate film from AED 6,000, including the shoot, grade, sound mix and two vertical cut-downs. Proposals are itemised within 24 hours of the brief, so each line can be kept or removed. Read the production cost guide→
Are you a video production company or a freelancer?
The service is that of a production company, brief to delivered master, with the structure of a freelancer: one senior operator quotes, shoots, edits and grades, with no agency layer or account manager in between. Second shooters, photographers and a licensed drone partner are added as named lines when a booking needs them, and you deal with the same person throughout.
How long does a video production take from brief to delivery?
A proposal arrives within 24 hours of the brief, and a deposit holds the shoot date. First cuts arrive in 2 to 5 working days on most projects; a three-minute corporate film has a first cut in 7 working days and a final within 14. Same-day edits for events are arranged at booking, not requested on the day. Read the corporate video timeline guide→
What kinds of video do you produce in Dubai?
Corporate films and company profiles, executive interviews and testimonials, event and conference coverage with same-day edits, commercial and product content for paid media, real estate walkthroughs and development films, social-first vertical content, and training, healthcare and industrial films. All are shot by the same operator on Sony FX6 and A7 IV cameras and finished in-house.
Do you provide drone footage and a second camera?
A second camera is standard on interviews and added as a named line for events that need two angles at once. Drone footage is flown only through a licensed GCAA and DCAA partner and quoted as a separate line, because Jubin does not fly drones himself. Both appear on the proposal before a date is booked, never as a surprise on the invoice.
Do we own the footage, and what formats do we receive?
Yes. You own the final films and the raw footage in writing, with no licensing period and no archive fee. Delivery is a 16:9 master, vertical cut-downs with captions and any square or short versions the brief specifies, sent as download links. Films are edited in Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro and graded in DaVinci Resolve.
