Product photography that comes to your stock

Most product shoots in Dubai work one way: box the stock, courier it to a fixed studio, wait. That suits small, light, replaceable items. It stops working the moment the product is a two-metre display unit, a pallet of retail packaging, a bonded shipment that cannot leave the warehouse, or a piece of jewellery your insurer will not let out of the building. For those, the kit travels instead. A table-top rig, continuous lighting and white sweeps fit in a car and go up inside an hour in a corner of your own premises.

Shooting on site also removes the cost nobody budgets for, which is handling. Stock stays on your premises, stays on your inventory system, and goes back on the shelf the same day. The person who knows how the product should look, usually the merchandiser, is at the monitor while it is shot rather than reviewing proofs three days later. Corrections happen on set, where they cost a minute instead of a reshoot.

Shooting for Shopify, Amazon and Noon listings

A listing image is a technical file before it is a good photograph. Amazon wants the main image on a pure white background with the product filling most of the frame, no props, no logos, no watermarks, and a long edge big enough for the zoom viewer to work. Noon applies a similar white-background rule to the primary image. Shopify imposes no such rules, which is why so many Shopify catalogues look untidy: mixed crops, mixed backgrounds, shadows falling three ways across one grid.

The fix is a shot template agreed before the first frame. Every SKU gets the same angle order, the same crop ratio, the same product-to-frame proportion and the same shadow treatment, so the category page reads as one catalogue, not a set of separate shoots. Files are exported per platform from one set of masters: square white-background versions for the marketplaces, wider crops for the Shopify product page, vertical frames for paid social. One shoot day, three sets of exports, no reshoot when you add a sales channel.

What a product photography day in Dubai costs

AED 2,000 is the starting point. That covers a half-day on site, a white-background pack shot set of up to roughly 15 straightforward SKUs, standard retouching and exports sized for your listing platforms. It is a starting point rather than a fixed price, because the quote moves with the SKU count, how much styling each item needs before it can be photographed, and whether the brief includes lifestyle setups or video.

Most catalogue projects land between AED 2,000 and 7,000. A single-day pack shot run for a small e-commerce range sits at the bottom of that band. A seasonal catalogue with lifestyle setups, several locations and a set of video clips sits at the top. Every proposal is itemised line by line and sent within 24 hours of the brief, so you can see what each part costs and remove anything you do not need. One person shoots, retouches and delivers, so no agency margin sits on top.

Turnaround: proofs, retouching and delivery

A proof gallery goes out the working day after the shoot: every usable frame, unretouched, as a link you can tick through and comment on. Once selections come back, retouched finals follow in 3 to 5 working days for a standard catalogue run. Larger jobs of roughly 100 SKUs and above take 5 to 8 working days, because retouching is done per image and there is no honest shortcut around that.

If a listing has to go live on a fixed date, say so in the brief and the schedule is built backwards from it. Priority SKUs can be pulled forward and delivered first while the rest of the catalogue is still in retouch, which is usually enough to keep a launch on time. Same-day delivery, already a standard option on event work, is possible on small product sets by arrangement. You own the final images, the raw files and any video clips in writing, with no licensing period and no archive fee.

Product video from the same session

The set that produces a pack shot produces a video clip for about ten more minutes of work. The lighting is built and the product is positioned, so a turntable rotation, a detail push-in or a hands-in-frame demonstration costs set-up time rather than a second booking. Video is filmed on a Sony FX6, stills on a Sony A7 IV, both graded to the same look, so the clip and the image beside it do not look like they came from two suppliers.

Those clips earn their place. Amazon and Noon listings take video in the gallery, Shopify product pages run it above the fold, and the vertical crops go straight into paid social. If the brief is closer to a finished brand spot than a catalogue, that belongs under commercial video production. If what you need is a run of short vertical cuts for Instagram and TikTok, that is social media reels. Either can be filmed on the same day, on the same set, and quoted as a separate line on the same proposal.

Catalogue shoots across Dubai and the UAE

Shoots run across Dubai, with regular bookings in Sharjah, Ajman and Abu Dhabi, and travel is built into the quote rather than added afterwards. Filming inside your own premises normally needs no permit. The day needs a clear floor area of about three metres by three, a power socket and a table.

Catalogue work is rarely a one-off. New stock lands every season and the second shoot has to match the first or the grid breaks, so the shot template from your first session, lighting distances, camera height, lens choice and colour settings, is kept on file. A top-up shoot six months later is set up to the same numbers, so the new frames sit in the existing grid. Wider brand stills and film on one booked day sit under photography and videography in Dubai.

Booking product photography in Dubai: FAQs

What does a catalogue shoot cost in Dubai?

A shoot starts at AED 2,000, covering a half-day on site, a white-background set of up to roughly 15 straightforward SKUs, retouching and platform exports. Most catalogue projects land between AED 2,000 and 7,000 depending on SKU count, styling and whether video is included. Proposals are itemised before a date is booked. See packages and prices→

Can you shoot at our warehouse or showroom instead of a studio?

Yes, and for bulky, fragile, bonded or high-value stock that is the point of booking this way. Lighting, a table-top rig and white backgrounds are brought to your premises and set up in a corner within about an hour. Stock never leaves the building and goes back on the shelf the same day.

Will the images meet Amazon and Noon listing requirements?

Yes. Main images are shot on a pure white background with the product filling the frame, with no props, logos or watermarks, and exported large enough for the marketplace zoom viewer. Marketplace file sets come from the same masters as the wider crops your Shopify product pages use.

How many products can you photograph in a day?

As a planning figure, 20 to 40 straightforward SKUs on white in a full day, or 8 to 12 when each item needs styling, props or a lifestyle setup. Anything that needs assembly, steaming or dressing goes slower. The figure is confirmed against your actual SKU list before the quote is sent.

How long does retouching and delivery take?

A proof gallery is sent the working day after the shoot. Retouched finals follow in 3 to 5 working days for a standard catalogue, and 5 to 8 working days for runs of around 100 SKUs and up. You own the finals and the raw files in writing.

Can we get product video from the same shoot?

Yes. Turntable spins, detail push-ins and in-use clips are filmed on the set that is already built, which costs less than booking a second shoot day. Video is shot on a Sony FX6 and graded to match the stills, then delivered in horizontal and vertical versions.
