The four things that actually move the price
- Hours on site. The single biggest factor. A 3-hour block and a 10-hour day are the same kit and the same operator; you are buying time and the edit that comes out of it.
- Number of finished deliverables. One highlight film is one edit. A highlight plus speaker sessions plus four vertical cut-downs is six or more, and post-production is where the hours accumulate.
- Turnaround. Standard delivery runs 2 to 5 working days. Same-day and next-day delivery carry a real premium because they displace other work.
- Crew and extras. Drone, a second shooter, studio rental, talent and permits sit outside standard scope everywhere. If a quote does not name them as lines, expect them later.
Videographer vs video production company in Dubai

An agency production books a crew (producer, director, camera operators, sound, an edit house), and that model is the right call for TVC-scale campaigns. A senior solo videographer covers interviews, events, property and social content end to end at a fraction of the number, because one person carries the whole pipeline. The question worth asking is whether the brief genuinely needs a crew, rather than who is cheaper. For most week-to-week corporate content in Dubai, it does not.
How to compare quotes without getting burned
- Compare deliverables, not totals. Ask every supplier for the same itemised list: hours on site, named edits, formats, turnaround, and what raw footage costs.
- Get the overtime rate in writing. Events overrun. A supplier without a written overtime figure will invoice you a surprise.
- Ask who owns the footage. On this site you own finals and raws in writing; plenty of suppliers licence rather than transfer, and charge for the archive later.
- Check what “delivery” means. One landscape master is not the same deliverable as masters plus captioned verticals per platform.
