How a same-day edit actually works
The film is planned backwards from the moment it screens. Before the day, the shot list is built against the running order, the edit template is set up with your titles, music and aspect ratios, and the delivery format is agreed with whoever runs the screen or the social account. On the day, the first hour is shot for the opening of the film, selects are pulled during coverage rather than afterwards, and the edit is assembled in the gaps between sessions on a laptop in the room.
By the last break the film is being captioned and exported. It screens at the closing session, goes to the communications team as a file and a vertical cut, and the camera keeps rolling for the longer edit that follows in the days after. The same coverage that produced the same-day film for IHC and for Emircom produced the full-length highlight afterwards; nothing is shot twice.
Why one operator is the right shape for this
A same-day edit fails on handovers. When one person shoots the morning and a different person cuts the afternoon, the editor has not seen the room, does not know which speaker landed, and is waiting for footage to transfer. With one operator, the person who shot the opening is the person cutting it, selects are made in the moment, and nothing waits for a hard drive to travel across the venue.
The trade-off is discipline. Every shot is taken knowing it may be in the film within the hour, so the coverage is tighter and the shot list matters more. It is why same-day edits are booked as such from the start rather than requested at lunchtime: the template, the music licence and the running order all have to be in place before the doors open.

The quote is itemised within 24 hours of the brief, a deposit holds the date, and you own the finished films and the raw footage in writing. Peak season (October to December, and GITEX and DWTC show weeks) carries a surcharge that is stated on the quote before you confirm, never after.
