One person covering photo and video at the same event

Corporate events in Dubai are often booked twice: a photographer from one supplier, a videographer from another. Two briefs, two people working the same room, two invoices, and a set of images that does not look like it came from the same evening as the film. Booking both from one operator removes that. Stills and video are captured in the same hours by the same person, finished on one colour treatment, and quoted on a single itemised proposal.

The fair question is whether one person can do both without dropping something. The answer is planning rather than speed. Coverage is mapped against the running order before the event: stage sessions and the movement of the room go to video, while arrivals, sponsor activations, award handovers and head-table portraits are covered as stills. A Sony FX6 and an A7 IV are carried together, so switching format takes seconds rather than a change of setup. Where parallel sessions genuinely need two people at once, that is said at quoting stage, not on the day. Where video is the main deliverable and stills the add-on, the event videography page covers that side of the booking.

What corporate event photography in Dubai covers

This is a corporate practice: conferences, summits, product launches, exhibition stands, awards evenings and executive portraits taken between sessions. Not weddings, not private parties. The distinction matters because the shot list is different. A corporate client needs the sponsor logo readable behind the speaker, a panel framed so all four faces still work at thumbnail size, the chief executive caught mid-sentence rather than posed, and the stand photographed with visitors at it rather than empty at eight in the morning.

The method keeps the footprint small: available light wherever the venue allows it, bounced flash only when a ballroom forces it, and lens choices that stay out of sightlines and out of the AV feed. Nobody is asked to pose during a session. Set-piece images the brief does need, group shots and ribbon cuttings, go into the running order in advance with one named person responsible for gathering the people. Multi-track programmes are handled the same way on the conference videography side, and stand coverage follows the pattern set out for exhibitions and trade shows.

Venues and the UAE event calendar

Coverage runs across Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Abu Dhabi, with travel built into the proposal rather than added afterwards. The venues repeat through the year: Dubai World Trade Centre halls during GITEX and Gulfood, the exhibition floors at ADIPEC and Arab Health, and the hotel ballrooms that host the conference and awards programmes in between. Each carries its own lighting problem, and knowing in advance that a ballroom drops to a deep stage wash the moment the keynote starts is most of the reason the images come back usable. Abu Dhabi bookings are a regular part of the calendar.

Recent UAE event work includes the Aldar launch on Fahid Island, an Emircom event highlight delivered as a same-day edit, an IHC event film and a brand event film for Al Falah Optics with Zeiss. Those were video bookings, and they are where the method comes from: the same running orders, the same ballrooms, the same organisers needing something publishable before everyone goes home.

What an event photography booking costs in Dubai

A half day, up to four hours on site, starts at AED 2,000 and includes the edited gallery, retouching on the selected frames and files prepared for print and web. A full day of up to ten hours starts at AED 3,000. Adding video, so one person delivers the photo set and an edited highlight film, starts at AED 4,500. Treat those as starting points. Once hours, rooms and sponsor deliverables are counted, most event bookings land between AED 2,000 and 7,000, itemised line by line within 24 hours of the brief.

What moves the figure is rarely the equipment. It is the length of the programme, whether sessions run in parallel rooms, how many sponsor-specific sets are written into contracts, and whether anything has to be delivered before the room empties. Overtime, if the closing session overruns, is agreed on the day before it is incurred rather than discovered on the invoice. There is no agency markup on any of it, because there is no agency.

Delivery: when the pictures actually arrive

A same-day select of fifteen to twenty edited images is delivered within about two hours of the closing session, which is what a communications team needs for the evening post. The full gallery from a half-day booking lands within 2 working days and a full day within 3 working days. A multi-day conference is delivered as a set each evening, with the complete gallery inside 5 working days of the final session.

Delivery is a private gallery link with full-resolution downloads plus web-sized and social-cropped versions, graded to one colour treatment so a deck built from the set does not jump between warm and cool frames. You own the edited images and the raw files outright, in writing, with no licensing window and no archive fee. Where video was booked on the same day, the film follows the video timeline: a first cut in 2 to 5 working days, or a same-day edit screening at the closing session when it was planned at booking.

Hiring an event photographer in Dubai: FAQs

What does a day of event photography cost in Dubai?

A half day of up to four hours starts at AED 2,000 and a full day of up to ten hours starts at AED 3,000, both including the edited gallery. Adding video to the same booking starts at AED 4,500. Most bookings land between AED 2,000 and 7,000 once hours, parallel rooms and sponsor deliverables are counted, and every proposal is itemised before a date is held.

Can one person really cover photography and video at the same event?

Yes, when coverage is planned against the running order in advance. Stage sessions go to video; arrivals, networking, sponsor activations, award handovers and portraits are covered as stills. Both camera bodies are carried together, so switching format takes seconds. If parallel sessions genuinely need two people at once, that is flagged at quoting stage rather than on the day. See the event videography page→

How quickly do we get the photographs?

A same-day select of fifteen to twenty edited images arrives within about two hours of the closing session. The full gallery lands in 2 working days after a half day and 3 working days after a full day. Multi-day conferences receive a set each evening, with the complete gallery inside 5 working days of the final session.

Do you photograph weddings or private parties?

No. This is corporate and conference work: summits, launches, exhibition stands, awards evenings and company functions. Keeping to that means the shot list, the delivery speed and the file formats are built for marketing and communications teams rather than for family albums.

Do we need a permit to photograph our event?

Inside a booked private venue the organiser's agreement normally covers photography. In exhibition halls, accreditation for the floor is arranged through the show organiser, and that request goes in before the build day. Public-space activations can need a permit; that is flagged at booking, and permits are usually arranged and paid for by the client.

Which emirates do you cover, and who owns the images?

Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Abu Dhabi, with travel built into the proposal rather than added afterwards. You own the edited images and the raw files outright, in writing, with no licensing period and no archive fee. See conference coverage→
